Alisha Wright is the Director of Basketball Operations and the High School Girls Basketball Co-Head Coach. Coach Wright attended Rockwood High School where she played basketball and softball for the Tigers. Upon Graduation in 1982 she continued playing basketball at Hiwassee College from 1982 – 1983. After leaving college Coach Wright entered the United States Army where she spent 20 years not only playing but coaching and refereeing at multiple levels throughout her military career. Coach Wright played on the All Army Hawaii women’s basketball and softball team, she played for the Fort Gordon, Korea, and Okinawa (Tori Station) basketball teams. While stationed in Hawaii Coach Wright received her first coaching position with Punahou High school as an assistant coach which soon transitioned to the head coach for the middle school. After coaching the middle school girls’ team she went on to coach the All Army Hawaii Men’s Post basketball team in which she never lost a game and had a record over the 3 years of 36 – 0. In 2003, while stationed in Bahrain for Iraqi Freedom/Enduring Freedom, Coach Wright became recertified as referee for basketball and umpire for softball/baseball. In 2004 Alisha retired from the military and returned to Bahrain as Information Systems Engineer and the Commissioner for MWR (Morale, Welfare, Recreation) for basketball and softball. In 2007, Alisha returned to her hometown and later moved to Knoxville where she became involved with AAU basketball. As the coach of 2 Hardin Valley Jr Hawks teams, Timberwolves (with Coach Patrick Davis), Lady Attitude, Dream Elite and assisting with multiple teams within the AAU community, Coach Wright has had great success winning and developing young athletes. She believes in developing athletes both on and off the court to reach their full potential. Currently Coach Wright is the co-head coach of the Knoxville Christian School High School Girls basketball team and is working with Dream Elite to create the girls Dream Elite basketball program (One Dream One Team) for grades 3 – 12.
