Jennifer Lawson has worked in education for over 28 years. She first worked with Admissions and Financial Aid at Roane State Community College. She continued her education to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Tennessee Tech University. Her teaching career began at Walnut Hill Elementary in Harriman, Tennessee where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade math and reading intervention, and also 1st grade. She was then blessed to spend the next 21 years teaching at Highland Park Elementary in Lenoir City, where she taught 1st grade and then 2nd for the last 2 years there. She came to Knoxville Christian after “retiring” from teaching, and is very excited for the opportunity to learn and grow with KCS! Jennifer has been married to Fred for over 30 years and together they have 3 sons (Christopher, Eric and Tyler) and a daughter-in-law (Marissa). She enjoys church activities, family gatherings, running (slowly) and going to the beach! (And reading, of course!) One of her favorite Bible verses is Galatians 6:9 ~ “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
