Coach Jeremy Weekley joined the coaching staff at KCS in August 2017 as the Elementary & Middle School Cross Country Coach. Coach Weekley has been running track/cross country since high school. He has completed three marathons, two of which he finished at a sub-4 hour mark. Awards include:
- 2018 Winner Masters Division Run Loco Marathon
- 2018 1st place age division Knoxville Xterra trail run
- 2019 1st place age division East TN Children’s Home 5K
- 2019 3rd place age division Smoky Mountain Sprint Triathlon
- 2014 3rd place age division Coca Cola 10K
Coach Weekley’s coaching philosophy is founded in Scripture. Hebrews 12:2 states, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Coach Weekley believes that running can be a great teacher of skills needed for life: patience, perseverance, learning to give our best effort, and believing that we can achieve great things. Each practice ends with a devotional thought and prayer. One of his favorite parts of coaching is seeing each runner improve throughout the season, especially his son Grant who runs for KCS. In addition to coaching at KCS, Coach Weekley is also the Pulpit Minister at West End Church of Christ.
