Mrs. Kathleen Scruggs holds a bachelor’s degree from Maryville College in English with a minor in history and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. She is a member of the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honors Society, the East Tennessee Historical Society, and a published writer. Mrs. Scrugg’s teaching philosophy is based on collaboration with the students to create a learning process that fosters critical thinking, information literacy, and real-world application. Her personal mission as a teacher is to encourage life-long learning and the ability to manage and solve problems. Mrs. Scruggs has two children and one granddaughter. Kathleen enjoys cooking, reading, walking, praying, and playing chess.
