The Athletic Director at Knoxville Christian School serves as the leader and coordinator of the school’s athletic program for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, organization, supervision, and spiritual leadership of all athletic programs while supporting the mission and values of the school.
The Athletic Director works closely with administration, coaches, students, parents, officials, and community members to promote excellence in athletics, Christ-centered sportsmanship, student growth, and program integrity. The Athletic Director is expected to foster an environment that emphasizes character, teamwork, discipline, respect, and leadership both on and off the field or court.
Primary responsibilities include overseeing athletic operations, scheduling games and practices, supervising coaches, maintaining compliance with league and governing organization requirements, coordinating athletic events, communicating with families, managing athletic facilities and equipment, and supporting the academic and spiritual well-being of student-athletes.
The Athletic Director is also responsible for promoting positive relationships within the school community, encouraging student participation in athletics, and helping ensure that all athletic programs reflect the mission and standards of Knoxville Christian School.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Christian character and lifestyle consistent with the mission of the school
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, coaches, and community members
- Knowledge of interscholastic athletics and athletic program management
- Prior coaching, athletic administration, or educational experience preferred
- Ability to supervise and coordinate multiple programs and events
- Commitment to fostering student development spiritually, academically, and athletically
Employment Status
This is a part-time position with flexible and seasonal hours that may include evenings and occasional weekends based on athletic schedules and events.
