ELEMENTARY TEACHER
Knoxville Christian School is growing.
Must hold at minimum of a bachelor’s degree and must possess a Tennessee teaching license.
The teacher is expected to:
- incorporate a Biblical worldview into classes
- teach classes as assigned, demonstrating effectiveness in classroom instruction.
- employ instructional aids, methods and materials that will provide for creative, interesting and enthusiastic teaching.
- plan long-range, as well as weekly, goals and objectives.
- be well prepared for class so that objectives can be accomplished.
- maintain accurate records of attendance and grades.
- maintain discipline in the classroom and on school premises to facilitate learning and positive relationships.

SUMMER EARLY LEARNING CENTER WORKERS

Summer Early Learning Center (Preschool and toddler)
Lead Teachers and Assistants
(Full-time and part-time shifts)
Knoxville Christian School is growing. We are looking for full- and part-time workers for the summer for our Early Learning Center Summer Program.
Hours range from 730am to 5:30pm. Flexible shifts are possible such as morning opening, all day, and afternoon closing.
Lead teachers must have college degree. Part-time shifts positions must be at least 21 years old.
Age groups include 18-36 months, and PK3/PK4.
Lead teachers must be able to lead classes according to curriculum.

ENGLISH TEACHER – MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL

Job Responsibilities
- Set high academic standards for every student in the class while still adapting to the individual needs of each child.
- Prepare lesson plans in advance that teach core objectives and principles that are relevant to future education, also showing students how this knowledge is useful in the real world.
- Teach several different classes of students the rules of grammar, punctuation, spelling and other nuances of the English language.
- Track and report performance data to determine where changes need to be made and which strategies and methods are working.
- Attend weekly staff meetings to address unique situations or problems with individual students so you can adapt your lesson plans to meet their needs.
- Develop stable, solid relationships with students with appropriate boundaries so they know you are available to help them when they need it.
- Promote parent/teacher/student associations and encourage students and their guardians to get involved in the community and in the school.
- Attend special events held by the school and engage with students and their parents in an appropriate, friendly way.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in English teaching
- State certification and licensing to be a qualified English teacher, or in process
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including sitting and standing for long periods of time
- Previous experience teaching English
- An interest in Theater/Drama a plus
